Captain Karina von Riesz

Hiring cost 230,000 gp. Plays for: Sylvanian Spotlight.

Special rule: Tasty Morsel

Once per game, after failing Bloodlust, she may bite an opposing non-Star player of ST 3 or less as if they were a Thrall.

On the pitch

Karina has the statline of a star blitzer: MA 7, ST 4, AG 2+ and PA 3+ behind AV 9+, with Dodge and Jump Up. Bloodlust (2+) is the catch: she fails only on a natural 1, and then she has to bite a Thrall or the turn ends in a turnover. Tasty Morsel lets her bite an opposing player of ST 3 or less instead, once a game. Regeneration shrugs off half her casualties.

Vampire teams are her natural home: they have Thralls to bite and already build turns around Bloodlust. Shambling Undead, Necromantic Horror and Tomb Kings can hire her through the Sylvanian Spotlight, and for them she is a fast ST 4 carrier with AG 2+, with Tasty Morsel as the only safe failure. At 230k she is expensive, and a 1 on Bloodlust with no Thrall nearby costs the turn, Loner (4+) or not.
