Nurgle team roster
The Nurgle roster has 4 positions. The cheapest player is the Rotter at 40,000 gp, the quickest is the Pestigor with MA 6, and the strongest is the Rotspawn with ST 5. Team re-rolls cost 60,000 gp each.
Make Nurgle cardsHow the team plays
Nurgle is a slow bash team with an unpleasant surface. Bloaters at ST 4, AV 10+ carry Disturbing Presence, Foul Appearance, Regeneration and Stand Firm, so a defence of four is hard to pass around and hard to move. Pestigors are the only quick players, MA 6 with Horns for blitzing, Regeneration and Steady Footing, and they carry the ball. Rotters are the linemen, cheap at 40,000 gp with Decay as the price. A Rotspawn at ST 5 adds Tentacles, Mighty Blow and Really Stupid.
The team is good at grinding: hold a tight cage, let Foul Appearance cancel one block in six, and watch opposing passers struggle inside Disturbing Presence. It is bad at catching up, since nothing moves faster than MA 6, and ball handling is weak with Pestigors at AG 3+ and everyone else worse. Plague Ridden across the roster gives a free Lineman when a block kills an opponent. Rotters die, Pestigors score, and the Bloaters and Rotspawn stay on their feet.

Building a starting roster
Four Bloaters (440,000 gp), two Pestigors (140,000 gp), a Rotspawn (140,000 gp) and four Rotters (160,000 gp) make eleven players for 880,000 gp. Re-rolls are 60,000 gp, so two of them land the team at exactly 1,000,000 gp. Nothing is left over, and that is the usual shape anyway: the positionals are capped at four Bloaters and two Pestigors, so later money goes on Rotters as replacements and a third re-roll. A few coaches start without the Rotspawn and take a fifth Rotter and a third re-roll instead, for 960,000 gp.
Advice for newer coaches
Form the cage with Bloaters on the corners and a Pestigor inside it, and move it a few squares a turn; you win by running the clock. Blitz with a Pestigor so Horns gives ST 4 on the hit. Keep the Rotspawn adjacent to a team-mate before it acts so Really Stupid rolls at +2, and let Tentacles do the defending. Avoid throwing the ball at all with this roster: a Rotter at AG 4+ and PA 6+ is a turnover waiting to happen.
